Our Story
The Stowe Ski and Ride -- Women In Motion or WIM program ended in 2008 leaving a huge hole in the women’s ski community. A women-centered active and supportive group of women ─ who had participated in the WIM annual one-week event ─ had forged bonds that they did not want to see end. WIM refugees were looking for something sustainable to fill this void. So in 2013....
Our Mission
"To promote women-centered activities in a supportive environment. To educate and increase participation of women of all ages to try, enjoy and safely compete in winter sports and other recreational activities.”
“As a 501(c) (3) non-profit, WoW will raise funds to provide scholarships for girls to ski race; and to develop and support winter sports and other recreational and civic activities for women of all ages.”
Active and Challenging Events in a Fun, Supportive and Safe Environment for All Ability Levels
"Ski-Togethers" ─ Groups of five to twenty or more women regularly meet at a designated lift to ski-together for the morning or afternoon. XC skiers regularly meet on alternate Monday afternoons at the Stowe XC Center to ski-together.
Après Ski Parties ─ Hosted by Stowe restaurants with complimentary appetizers and raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
Half-Day Ski Clinics ─ Customized ski clinics with high level coaches for all levels and abilities.
Day Trips ─ To near by ski resorts such as Jay, Smuggs, Mad River and Sugarbush and other organized outings for WoW members including spouses, partners and friends.
Off-Season Activities ─ Kayaking, road- and mountain biking, running,hiking, zip-lining, tennis round-robins, swims, lunches and other social events.
